I love it when people can provide any kind of information or background on the wines that I miss and/or cite incorrectly. I had no idea that the "verde" in Vinho Verde referred to the "unripe"-nature of the fruit. Very interesting. Normally I would be the first one to admit when I am wrong about any of the info I give here on the site (because it does happen often), but in this case I'm off the hook because the quote about "verde" referring to the wine's color is direct from the importer's description! The correct translation should be unripe wine. The process of brew is interrupted and do not go to the end has the other wines.
